The wind yaw system is an important component of wind turbines, and there are the following precautions during transportation:
Packaging aspect
Selection of protective materials: The various components of the yaw system (such as yaw gears, yaw motors, yaw brakes, etc.) need to be packaged with suitable protective materials. For example, for metal parts, rust proof paper or rust proof oil can be used for rust prevention treatment to prevent rusting due to moisture during transportation. For components with high precision requirements such as yaw gear, there should be foam plastics and other cushioning materials inside the package to ensure that key parts such as its tooth surface will not be damaged due to collision.
Overall stability: The overall structure of the packaging should be sufficiently stable. Wooden or steel structure boxes can be used for packaging, and labels such as “fragile”, “strictly prohibited from inversion”, “moisture-proof” should be placed on the outside of the packaging. For large yaw systems, a pallet with sufficient strength should be installed at the bottom of the wooden box to facilitate forklift loading and unloading and transportation. At the same time, components should be fixed with steel straps or ropes to prevent shaking inside the packaging box.
Selection of transportation vehicles
Road transportation: If choosing road transportation, for small yaw systems, ordinary box trucks can be used. But for large yaw systems, low flatbed semi trailers need to be used for transportation. Before loading, it is necessary to ensure that the vehicle has sufficient load-bearing capacity and that the surface of the carriage or flat plate is flat and free of sharp protrusions to avoid damaging the bottom of the packaging box. At the same time, transportation vehicles should be arranged reasonably according to the height, width, and weight restrictions of the transportation route, especially when passing through special sections such as bridges and tunnels, route planning should be done in advance.
Railway transportation: When using railway transportation, the yaw system should be loaded according to the regulations of railway transportation. The goods need to be fixed inside the train carriage, and considering the large vibration and impact forces during railway transportation, it is necessary to strengthen the fixing and buffering measures. When communicating with the railway department, it is necessary to clarify the size, weight, and other parameters of the goods to ensure the smooth arrangement of suitable carriages and transport trains.
Sea transportation: If the yaw system is transported by sea, the first thing to do is to do moisture-proof and anti-corrosion work. Because the sea air has high humidity and contains salt. The goods should be placed in a well ventilated container, and the packaging box should be sealed with desiccants placed inside. At the same time, due to the severe shaking and turbulence of the ship during sea transportation, the fixing of components inside the container should be more secure. Special sea straps and fixing brackets can be used to prevent the components from moving inside the container.
Transportation environmental conditions
Temperature control: Some components in the yaw system, such as motors and electronic components, have certain temperature requirements. During transportation, it is important to avoid prolonged exposure to high or low temperature environments. For example, in high temperature environments, the insulation material performance of motors may decrease; In low temperature environments, some rubber seals may become brittle. If transported in extreme temperature environments, corresponding insulation or cooling measures may need to be taken, such as using insulated boxes or air-conditioned vehicles for transportation.
Humidity control: As mentioned earlier, it is necessary to prevent the yaw system from getting damp. When transporting in areas with high humidity, in addition to placing desiccants inside the packaging, it is also possible to consider installing dehumidification equipment in transport vehicles or containers. Especially for yaw systems with electronic components, excessive humidity may cause short circuits or damage to the electronic components.
Avoid bumps and vibrations: Despite packaging and fixing measures, it is still important to minimize bumps and vibrations during transportation. When planning transportation routes, avoid roads with poor road conditions. For unavoidable bumpy road sections, reduce the vehicle speed to ensure the safety of the yaw system components. Due to excessive bumps and vibrations, internal connections of components may become loose, such as loose terminals of the yaw motor or displacement of the brake pads of the yaw brake.
