Applicable scenarios of street lamp controller

  • by

A street lamp controller is a device used to control street lamp lighting, with multiple applicable scenarios:
Urban road lighting
Main road lighting: On the main roads of the city, street lights need to be turned on and off at specific times to ensure traffic safety and convenience. The street lamp controller can be set according to the local sunrise and sunset time to automatically turn on and off the street lamps. For example, in summer, when the daytime is longer, the street lamp controller will delay the opening time of the street lamp and advance the closing time; In winter, due to the shorter daylight hours, the opening time will be advanced and the closing time will be delayed. At the same time, some advanced streetlight controllers can adjust the brightness of streetlights according to traffic flow, maintaining high brightness during high traffic flow and appropriately reducing brightness during low traffic flow, thereby achieving energy-saving goals.
Secondary and branch road lighting: These roads have relatively low traffic flow, but still require appropriate lighting. The street lamp controller can manage the street lamps in these areas uniformly and set different lighting modes according to different time periods. For example, in the late night, reducing the brightness of street lights appropriately can reduce energy consumption without affecting the basic safety of pedestrians or vehicles.
Highway lighting
Highways usually have longer sections that require lighting, especially in areas such as tunnels, toll stations, and service areas. The street lamp controller can accurately control the on/off time and brightness of the street lamps in these areas. In the tunnel, due to the significant changes in light, the street lamp controller can adjust the brightness gradually based on the vehicle’s entry and exit situation and natural light intensity, allowing the driver’s eyes to gradually adapt to the changes in light and improve driving safety. For toll stations and service areas, the street light controller can arrange lighting reasonably according to the time pattern of personnel activities, providing a comfortable lighting environment for staff and passing drivers and passengers.
Park lighting
Industrial park lighting: There are various facilities such as factories, warehouses, roads, etc. in the industrial park. The street lamp controller can control the street lamps according to the production schedule of the enterprise and the flow of personnel in the park. For example, during peak commuting hours for workers, ensure that all road lights in the park are fully lit to provide a good visual environment; During the production period, if there are fewer pedestrians on the roads in the park, the brightness of the street lights can be appropriately reduced to save energy. At the same time, for some production areas that require special lighting, such as logistics loading and unloading areas, the street light controller can work with other sensors to provide sufficient lighting when there are vehicles loading and unloading goods, and automatically adjust the brightness after completing the operation.
Campus lighting: The demand for street lighting on campus also varies depending on time and location. In the teaching area, the streetlight controller can be combined with the school’s curriculum to ensure that the streetlights around the roads and teaching buildings are illuminated normally during students’ commute, and the brightness can be appropriately reduced during other times. In living areas such as dormitory areas and around canteens, the lighting time of streetlights can be adjusted according to students’ daily routines. The brightness can be reduced during evening breaks, but a certain level of safe lighting should be maintained to facilitate students who return home late. In the playground and sports area of the campus, the streetlight controller can provide sufficient lighting according to the schedule of sports activities during competitions or training, and return to energy-saving mode after the activity is over.
Landscape lighting
In scenic areas such as parks and squares, street lamps are not only used for lighting, but also serve as decorations. The streetlight controller can control the mode of landscape streetlights according to different seasons, festivals, or events. For example, in spring and autumn, when people spend more time outdoors for leisure, landscape streetlights can be set to warm and soft colors and moderate brightness to create a comfortable atmosphere; On summer nights, extend the lighting time appropriately to meet people’s needs for activities such as cooling off; In winter, lighting time can be shortened to save energy. During holidays such as the Spring Festival and Christmas ,the streetlight controller can be integrated with landscape lighting systems to achieve colorful lighting effects such as flickering and gradients, adding to the festive atmosphere.
Rural road lighting
With the continuous improvement of rural infrastructure, streetlights have gradually been installed on rural roads. Street light controllers also play an important role in rural road lighting. It can control the on/off of street lights according to the local farmers’ daily routine and transportation needs. Due to the relatively sensitive electricity expenses in rural areas, the streetlight controller can set an intelligent dimming mode to reduce the brightness of streetlights at night when there are few pedestrians and vehicles, effectively reducing energy consumption and meeting basic lighting needs, ensuring the safety of villagers’ nighttime travel.
